Christmas reunion 2006

Hey, the plan is to meet at the alley (and you shouldn't have to ask which alley) on the Tuesday night after Christmas; that would be Dec. 26th. I'm not sure about the time; when can everyone be there?

December 2006 Reunion

Hey, Duke and I were wondering about our annual Christmas get-together this year. Christmas (and New Year's, of course) is on a Monday this year. What day/night works best for everyone to meet up? I'm taking a poll here. Refer any other Winona types who might want to show up, and we'll try to schedule something early in the hopes that more people will be there.

Hulk

Today is Hulk's birthday (that's David Hultgren, not Robert Bruce Banner). Let's all observe a moment of silence, and then listen for the sound of a 16-pound bowling ball knocking down all ten pins, from the Brooklyn side.

Seinfeldian Guest Stars

Well, since it's been over three weeks (a fortnight and a half, really) since a new post has been added here, I thought I'd try and get something going.

I was watching Seinfeld earlier tonight in syndication and was struck by a thought I'd had several times before. I think one of the hidden gems that made this show so good was the quality of the guest starring actors on various episodes. My first example if Bookman, the library investigations officer from the episode where Jerry finds out he forgot to return a book he took out in 1971. His scenes are a bit overdone, perhaps, but the actor just continues to run with it, even to the point where Jerry can't keep a straight face. Pure comic brilliance.

Anyone else?

Various Artists

I posted something on my own blog just now about some various artists music compilations. As I was writing it, I decided to ask on here for people to comment on some of their favorite compilations. I'm sure we'll get some interesting and far-reaching choices.

Muggins!

My mom has been staying with me the past few days, and we've played a few games of cribbage on a couple of different nights. The first night, she beat me two games to one. Tonight, I won two games out of three. Of course, if we'd been playing muggins, I probably could've done better. But as Mo told me when he taught me how to play, cribbage is a gentleman's game.
